De 24 de abril a 30 de julho acontece no Metropolitan Museum of Art, em Nova York, uma grande retrospectiva de fotografias para marcar o centenário do admirável fotógrafo americano, Irving Penn.
Sua obra se distingue pela meticulosa atenção dada à composição, nuances e detalhes.
Os intensos Portraits feitos por Penn revelam seu grande talento em observar a expressão humana, assim como, uma aguda inteligência gráfica e sensibilidade em captar a luz e volumes do ambiente.
A mostra apresenta mais de 200 fotografias, que representam todos os períodos do artista, portanto, não inclui apenas seus célebres retratos, mas também glamourosas fotografias de moda, exóticas naturezas-mortas, crianças em Cuzco, Peru, voluptuosos nudes femininos, tribos da Nova Guiné e flores coloridas.
Destaque para as icônicas fotografias de moda com a supermodelo sueca Lisa Fonssagrives Penn, musa e esposa do fotógrafo.
A exposição “Irving Penn: Centennial” foi organizada pelo MET em colaboração com a Fundação Irving Penn.
